Project Creator Tool How-To's

Overview

Managing and organizing projects is critical for a successful job. We want to provide you with the tools for success. Our new Project Creator tool allows you to create a project for any job you have. You can:

  • Add products to a project
  • Separate products into different rooms or spaces
  • Add comments for yourself or your customers reference
  • You can set pricing for your clients that is separate from the price you'll pay
  • You can email your clients with as much or as little information as you want, so they can review and approve your selections

We want this tool to be everything you want it to be. If you have feedback or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know. We want to make this a powerful resource for you and your clients. Please send all feedback to us via email. We want to hear from you.

Step 1: Create

  • Go to My Account on the top right corner of the screen. (view image)go to my account
  • Select “Create a New Project” (view image)Create a Project
  • Enter your project title name & hit the create button.
  • Click into your project link.
  • Enter/Modify all the empty text fields on the left column (view image)Enter info in text fields
  • Save Your Changes

Step 2: Organize

  • Assigning products to rooms
    • Click on the check-box to select the products you want to assign to a specific room or space.
    • Once selected, go to the < CHANGE ROOM > dropdown option.
    • Select - NEW ROOM - and title your room or space and hit “create”. (view image)Create a new room
    • Continue with this process until you’ve completed your arrangements.
    • *Don’t forget to save your work!*

Step 3: Deliver

  • Share your project with your client or other party. You have the option of letting them see different information by using the "client preferences" panel.
  • QC your completed project once you’ve finished before you send it out to your client.
  • Save your changes.
  • Enter in the due date and expiration date. When the expiration date is reached, the quote will no longer will viewable to your client.
  • Whenever you’re ready (all text fields are entered and product selections have been assigned), click the "PREVIEW" button.
  • There are three methods for send your quote: Save PDF to your computer and use your own email to send the quote, email the PDF directly to your client or copy the URL from the preview page and email the URL.

FAQs:

How long has this tool been available? This is a new tool we have created in answer to our Designer and Trade client requests. We want to make this a robust tool and resource for you. Because we are in Beta testing, please let us know what you think and provide any suggestions for improvements we can make.

Can I edit the information I send to my client? You can easily edit the information that is included in an email to show just a product image, or include information like client and/or retail price, notes, and model numbers. You can even upload your own company logo.

Can my client order from you if I send them an email from your tool? No, we wanted to allow you the ability to send your clients information for decision making purposes, but prevent them from ordering on their own. Your clients would need to contact you once they make their decision and then you would place the order in our system.
